Daniel 3:25

This automaton is a stylized scene based on Daniel 3:25. At this point in the story, King Nebuchadnezzar looks into the firey furnace expecting to see Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego burning for their disobedience but instead sees them unbound with a fourth figure in their midst that many believe to be an Old Testament appearance of Jesus. This is a bit of a departure from my usual humorous automata.
To drive the counter rotating rings of fire I used pin gears mounted on concentric axles. Painted aluminum flashing was used for the flames and it is a bit sharp! Date created: July 2015
